2022 Montreal Auto Show is cancelled due to raise in COVID-19 cases
The show was also cancelled last year due to the pandemic
Organizers of the 2022 Montreal Auto Show have decided to cancel the event at the last minute due to the rise of COVID-19 cases in the province and the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant.
The Montreal Auto Show was scheduled to take place from January 21 to 30, 2022 at the Palais des congrès. The 2021 edition had also been cancelled due to the pandemic.
“It’s not with any joy that we are making this decision. Montreal being the first major auto show on the Canadian circuit, we feel that it would be irresponsible to organize a major public event with the increase of the cases of COVID. We are disappointed for the public and for our partners who supported us: the Palais des congrès, manufacturers, exhibitors and collaborators,” said Luis Pereira, General Manager of MIAS.
Mr. Pereira said that all those who purchased tickets for the show will be reimbursed. In addition, fundraising events to support six hospital foundations will still take place.
