The 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness is for Getting Lost

Subaru’s Wilderness trim grows with the addition of the Forester

  • It features all of 9.2 inches of ground clearance.

  • It rolls on Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires.

  • The Wilderness trim is instantly recognizable thanks to its unique visual styling cues.

We’ve said it before and here goes again: “Safari all the things” is a good trend. Subaru’s in an excellent position to take advantage of this trend as fans and owners are well-known for their propensity for exploring the outdoors. Now, Subaru has confirmed that a new Wilderness version of the Forester is coming.

And it will likely be quite popular. The new 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness has all the makings of becoming a favorite among those who love the rugged look and/or that actually enjoy getting lost in the woods.

The Subaru Forester Wilderness will differ from the other Foresters thanks to its unique 17-inch wheels wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar all-terrain tires, an uprated front fascia with headlights, and fog light covers. Its most distinctive features are its impressive 9.2 inches of ground clearance and specific fender flares. As well, it gets redesigned and strengthened ladder-type roof rails for increased functionality.

As always, the 2022 Subaru Forester Wilderness will be equipped with the brand’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and with standard X-MODE, all of it powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre Boxer 4-cylinder engine.

The new 2022 Forester along with the Wilderness trim arrive this October. It is priced from  $32,820 in the US.
