The GR Sport trims are reserved for Europe.
Suspension tweaks are the only performance upgrades.
The Toyota RAV4 is gaining a new GR SPORT grade that will be available in both hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid electric versions. These new models are inspired by the global achievements of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing and will have a tweaked suspension for a more engaging drive. Let’s take a closer look at what the new RAV4 GR SPORT has to offer.
The new GR SPORT trims will have a styling package that will include, obviously, “GR” badging, piano black wheel arch trims, side mouldings, and back door garnish. Also part of the visual upgrades is a black G-mesh pattern on the front spoilers. The latter will be finished in dark silver on the hybrid model and gunmetal grey on the plug-in hybrid.
The new RAV4 GR SPORT will also adopt all the advanced technology features of the 2023 model year RAV4. This includes the latest multimedia system with a 10.5-inch high-definition display and a customizable 12.3-inch driver’s digital instrument cluster. The included front sport seats are covered in a tactile, suede-effect upholstery with synthetic leather bolsters, and topped by headrests that are embossed with the GR logo.
The real GR upgrade for the new 2023 Toyota RAV4 GR SPORT is a new unique suspension tune. It will consist of stiffer springs and shock absorbers for a firmer and sportier ride.
The sporty SUV will be available in Europe in Q4 2022. There’s no word as to whether or not the new GR Sport trims will be offered in North America in the future.
