The 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are Long Boys

  • Overall length increased by 12 inches with 7 inches in the wheelbase.

  • It will be available with Stellantis’ new Hurricane Twin Turbo engines.

  • A new Carbide trim will launch as well.

For many, the all-new 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer were big enough. For the rest, more of everything is and was a must. It is for the latter that Stellantis has introduced the new “L” or long versions of the already large SUVs.

The new long-wheelbase iterations of the Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L add a substantial 12 inches in overall length for a total of 226.7 inches. Of the extra foot, 7 inches are added to the wheelbase (now 130.0 inches) for, according to Jeep, the best-in-class overall passenger volume and cargo volume behind the third row.

To wit, both “L” models deliver an overall up to 44.2 cubic feet or 1,252 litres of cargo space behind the third row. This is up 15.8 cubic feet, or 447.4 litres, compared to the standard-wheelbase models. Behind the second row, volume grows to up to 88.8 cubic feet (2,215 litres) and up to 130.9 cubic feet (3,707 litres) behind the first row. Second and third-row passenger space is increased exponentially, offering up the most space for all in the segment.

“The all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are off to a great start, and we’re always striving to give customers even more of what they want,” said Jim Morrison, Senior Vice President and Head of Jeep Brand North America. “The new Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L long-wheelbase models give our customers more: a more efficient and more powerful powertrain with the all-new Hurricane Twin Turbo engines, and even more space, delivering best-in-class overall passenger volume, second-row legroom and cargo volume behind the third row, all while maintaining best-in-class towing capability of 10,000 pounds and a rewarding driving experience that is confidence-inspiring.”

About the new Hurricane Twin Turbo engines, two versions will power the 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L lineups. The Wagoneer L’s version will produce 420 horsepower and 468 lb.-ft. of torque. The lucky Grand Wagoneer L will inherit the new high-output Hurricane Twin Turbo 510 which delivers no less than 510 horsepower and 500 lb.-ft. of torque.

The cabin will feature a technical hydrographic dash trim, black headliner, Smoke accent stitching and Global Black seats, instrument panel and doors.
