American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) in partnership with Chevrolet has revealed the all-new 2024 Colorado ZR2 Bison, touted as the “most off-road-capable midsize truck in America”. This latest version offers superior off-road performance that doesn’t compromise on ride quality, handling, or safety, designed to conquer any terrain.

The AEV-enhanced vehicle was tested and proven in competition by champion off-road racer Chad Hall and underwent rigorous trials on the Rubicon Trail, demonstrating its extreme capabilities and impressive performance.

The 2024 Bison is equipped with a host of segment-exclusive features, including Multimatic front and rear Jounce Control Dampers. Its AEV specifications encompass a heavy-duty winch-capable front bumper, rear bumper, fender flares, and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels. The vehicle rides on 35-inch OD Mud/Terrain tires, unique to its segment.

For increased resilience, boron steel skid plates and rocker protectors provide best-in-class underbody protection. The Bison leads its segment with an approach angle of 38.2 degrees, a departure angle of 26 degrees, and a breakover angle of 26.9 degrees. It also boasts the highest ground clearance in its class, measuring 12.2 inches.

Under the hood, the Colorado ZR2 Bison features a standard 2.7L Turbo High-Output powertrain delivering 310 HP, combined with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle is available in 4WD and includes a 2-speed transfer case, power-locking front and rear differentials, and Multimatic DSSV dampers paired with the ZR2 chassis.

The truck also features a racing-inspired spare tire carrier, a spray-on bedliner, and a distinct “Flowtie” front badge, along with Bison exterior identification. The interior is distinguished by AEV badging on the front headrests and all-weather floor liners.

The Chevy’s latest model comes with an 11.3-inch-diagonal colour touchscreen Chevrolet Infotainment System, featuring Google built-in functionalities. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with Wi-Fi Hotspot capabilities, cater to its cutting-edge infotainment and connectivity features.

While the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison establishes an impressive precedent in the off-road truck sector, information regarding its pricing and availability remains undisclosed.
