Now that the Toyota Prius Prime is available in Canada, Cyril Dimitris, Vice President of Toyota Canada Inc., highlighted that the Prius Prime represents Toyota’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability.

The 2024 Prius Prime’s powertrain combines a 150 horsepower 2.0L gas engine with a 161 horsepower electric motor-generator system, producing a combined 220 horsepower. This marks a considerable advancement from the earlier models. Its top-tier lithium-ion battery promises an electric-only range of up to 72 kilometers and can be fully charged in just four hours. For extended travels, the vehicle seamlessly transitions to its hybrid mode, ensuring drivers never have to worry about running out of charge.

From a design perspective, the Prius Prime boasts an impressive 0.27 Coefficient of Drag, optimizing fuel efficiency. Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform, the vehicle’s design minimizes weight and maximizes rigidity, ensuring a stable and quiet drive.
