The 2025 Polestar 2 Gets Design Changes and More Range in Some Versions

Polestar makes some light changes to the Polestar 2 for 2025, including new wheels and paint colours.

  • The electric liftback sedan returns in 2025 with minor design changes and slightly more range for Dual Motor Versions.

  • The optional packages have been reshuffled.

  • The starting MSRP stays the same for Single and Dual-motor versions.

The 2025 Polestar 2 receives a number of light updates, including styling changes, shuffled options packages, and slightly more range for Dual Motor versions.

Entering its fifth year on the market, the Swedish electric liftback benefits from another round of design updates, with two new paint colours and two new alloy wheel designs.

Starting with the paint, Vapour replaces Magnesium as the silver/grey option, while Storm, a colour first introduced on the Polestar 4, replaces Thunder as the darker grey option.

The Polestar 2 continues to offer 19 and 20-inch wheels, but the standard 19-inch and the 20-inch units included in the Pro Pack feature a new design, while the 20-inch wheels that come with the Performance package stay the same.

Speaking of packs, the 2025 Polestar 2 models its option package structure after the Polestar 3 and 4 SUVs.

This means that buyers can choose the Pilot Pack, the Plus Pack, the Climate Pack, the Pro Pack, and the Performance Pack.

On top of the $54,950 base MSRP, the Pilot Pack adds the Pilot Assist semi-autonomous highway driving assistance for $1,200.

The Plus Pack, priced at $3,000, adds a panoramic roof, fog lamps, Weave Tech upholstery, ambient lighting, full power driver and passenger seats, air purification, the digital key system, a power liftgate with foot sensor, and a cargo divider with bag hooks.

The Climate Pack includes a heat pump climate control system, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated windshield washer nozzles, at a price of $1,300.

The $1,700 Pro Pack adds 20-inch alloy wheels, gold striped seat belts, and gold tire valve covers.

Finally, the Performance Pack costs a hefty $17,650, but it includes the Pilot and Plus packs, as well as the Dual Motor powertrain. In addition, it also features a higher output (476 hp), 20-inch performance alloy wheels, Polestar-engineered chassis tuning with adjustable Öhlins dampers, and Brembo brakes with gold callipers.

Mechanically, the Polestar 2 remains mostly the same for 2025, which means that the Single Motor version is RWD and features 299 horsepower and 361 lb-ft of torque, with up to 505 kilometres of EPA range.

The Dual Motor version, which starts at $62,850, benefits from 421 horsepower and 546 lb-ft of torque, with up to 447 kilometres of EPA range. Adding the Performance pack brings the range back to 408 kilometres, 11 more than the 2024 model.

Deliveries for the 2025 Polestar 2 should begin soon in Canada and Europe, with American consumers having to wait a little longer.
