The 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale Starts at $52,290 in Canada

Alfa Romeo Canada announces pricing for the 2026 Tonale, which gains a refreshed design but loses the hybrid model.

  • The Tonale receives an aesthetic update for the 2026 model year.

  • This modernized version makes its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, alongside the 33 Stradale.

  • The 2026 Tonale is available in three versions in Canada, but the plug-in hybrid powertrain is no longer offered.

Alfa Romeo Canada announces the pricing for the restyled 2026 Tonale as it makes its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The Italian brand’s smallest crossover now starts at $52,290 in Canada, which represents an increase of about $2,500 compared to 2025.

To justify this surplus, the 2026 Tonale benefits from an updated exterior design inspired by the 33 Stradale supercar, new 20-inch wheels, three new paint colours, and available red leather upholstery.

The lineup begins with the Sprint trim level, at $52,290 (MSRP of $49,995), followed by the Veloce at $54,795 (MSRP of $52,500) and the Speciale at $57,290 (MSRP of $54,995).

The Veloce adds red brake calipers, shift paddles, 19-inch wheels, a two-mode adaptive suspension, ambient lighting, a hands-free power liftgate, and dark exterior badges.

All these models come standard with the 2.0L turbocharged engine that develops 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, a 9-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and four-piston Brembo brakes.

Surprisingly, the plug-in hybrid version does not return for 2026, as the manufacturer prefers to concentrate its efforts on the more popular gasoline model. We still do not know if the closely related Dodge Hornet will continue to offer this powertrain, as data for the 2026 model has not yet been released.

Canadian buyers of the 2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale will have a choice of several options, including the Premium package available for $1,995 on the Sprint model, which adds black or red leather seats, ambient lighting, gloss black trim, the hands-free power liftgate, and ventilated front seats.

The Active Assist package is also on the list, and its price of $2,350 adds the active driving assistance system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, parking distance sensors, and 360-degree camera to all models in the lineup.

Also available on all 2026 Tonale models are the black roof ($95), the Harman Kardon audio system ($1,250), and the panoramic sunroof ($1,495).

The Sprint can also get 19-inch wheels ($1,500) or 20-inch wheels ($2,000), while the Veloce can be equipped with 20-inch wheels ($2,000).

Also present at the Alfa Romeo booth at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show is the 33 Stradale supercar, whose design inspired the new front end of the Tonale. This car is itself inspired by the 1967 Tipo 33 Stradale and is built entirely by hand by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera. Each of the 33 units produced is customized according to the wishes of its future owners. Under the hood is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 that generates 630 horsepower, propelling the 33 Stradale from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.

Visitors to the Los Angeles Auto Show will be able to see the 33 Stradale and the new 2026 Tonale from November 21 to 30, 2025.
