The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale Made its North American Debut in Four Events of the 2025 Monterey Car Week.

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was showcased in four events of the 2025 Monterey Car Week.

  • The 33 Stradale is a low-production sports car inspired by the 1967 Tipo 33 Stradale.

  • All 33 hand-built units have already been sold.

  • Both a 620-horsepower twin-turbo V6 and a 750-horsepower electric powertrain are available.

The Monterey Car Week is one of the world’s premier automotive events, bringing together collectors, enthusiasts, and automakers who gather to display and enjoy some of the most exclusive sports cars ever made.

It is no surprise, then, that many premium and luxury automakers use the opportunity to unveil their latest halo cars or prototypes.

This is what Alfa Romeo has done this year with the North American debut of the 33 Stradale, a low-production sports car that recalls the Tipo 33 Stradale from 1967, which was the fastest and most expensive production car in the world at the time.

The new version shares most of its ancestor’s design cues, such as the sleek, low-roofed silhouette, the diagonally-stacked headlamps and the round taillamps, but it is very modern under the skin.

Indeed, this sports car borrows some mechanical elements from the Maserati MC-20, which means it can be powered by a choice of a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 or a fully-electric powertrain.

The gasoline engine is said to deliver over 620 horsepower to the rear wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which is sufficient for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint of less than 3 seconds and a top speed of 333 km/h, according to the automaker.

Another nod to the car’s name is its production figures, as only 33 units will be manufactured, all of them hand-built by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera.

It is already too late to get your hands on one since all production units have already been sold, despite a price estimated at well over a million dollars each.

Owners will be able to tailor their 33 Stradale to their own preferences, making them all unique.

Interestingly, only a few of the 33 cars will be powered by electricity, the vast majority of buyers having preferred the six-cylinder powertrain.

Alfa Romeo Recaptures The 1960s With 33 Stradale Supercar

While the 33 Stradale had previously been shown in Europe, it made its first public appearance on North American soil during the 2025 Monterey Car Week, held from the 8th to the 17th of August in Monterey County, California.

Alfa Romeo didn’t just stage one unveiling for the 33 Stradale, however, as the sports car was featured in four distinct events last week, starting with Motorlux on Wednesday, where the automaker also showcased its full lineup alongside exotic cars and vintage airplanes.

The next evening’s event at Hagerty House included a fireside chat with Cristiano Fiorio, Global Head of Marketing and Special Projects for Alfa Romeo, and Glynn Bloomquist, an American buyer of the 33 Stradale.

Friday saw the Alfa Romeo sports car make an appearance at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on the grounds of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel Valley, and finally, attendees could view the car, along with the Giulia, Stelvio, and Tonale in the paddock of the Laguna Seca racetrack on Saturday.
