The Lexus RX is a best-seller in its segment.
This will mark the 5th generation of the popular midsize premium SUV.
The Lexus RX was one of the founding members of the now omnipresent and ultra-competitive midsize premium SUV segment. Launched for the 1998 model year, it quickly became a go-to product for discerning buyers looking for comfort, refinement, and luxury. The instant-hit quickly gained more followers over the generations as Lexus introduced alternative powertrains and even more features.
The next-generation 2023 Lexus RX will undoubtedly carry on as a must-consider luxury SUV. Details are non-existent which allows us to speculate somewhat.
If we allow ourselves to be inspired by the very impressive new NX, the 2023 RX will be offered in three distinct iterations. The “base” petrol version will feature the NX 350’s turbocharged 2.4-litre 4-cylinder engine which will replace the 3.5-litre V6. The other two versions will sport hybrid technologies with a 350h and likely a 450h with plug-in power.
Physically, and from the little we can see, the new 2023 RX will be a cross between the electric RZ and the NX.
We’ll find out more on Tuesday, May 31 at 8:00 p.m. (ET) when Lexus will unveil the all-new 2023 RX.
