Aston Martin’s AM-RB 003 is a more civil-looking Valkyrie hyper-car with the heart of a Formula 1 race car. Does it get any better than this?
We suppose the best way to introduce or describe the Aston Martin 003 is as the evolution of the bonified hyper-car that was and is the Valkyrie.
As far as credentials go, the latter earned its place in history thanks to its 1,160-horsepower V12 engine built by none other than Cosworth. In fact, the 6.5-litre V12 is the world’s most powerful naturally aspirated engine. The car also sports the necessary over-the-top aero body and makes all the noises such a vehicle requires.
The AM-RB 003 is without a shadow of a doubt, a Valkyrie but that attended and graduated finishing school. The 003’s aero looks better suited to regular roads (read not as low) and not only perfectly paved race tracks. It is also without excessive spoilers and features Porsche 918-styled tailpipes.
This is not to say however that the Aston Martin AM-RB 003 will not be fast. In fact, the electrified turbocharged V6 is lifted from the brand’s F1 cars, or, as AM puts it, the 003 will feature some F1-derived technology.
Beyond this, we know that the AM-RB 003 will be more common than the Valkyrie but will still be built in extremely limited numbers. The production version should arrive in late 2021.
