The final addition to Audi’s line of futuristic concepts is the Audi AI:Trail Quattro Concept, a compact off-roader
By the looks of the vehicle in the supplied picture, the Audi AI:Trail Quattro concept will probably never see actual production. Having said that, the AI:Trail Quattro is still very cool. There’s no information to go on other than we’ll see it in person at this upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show in a few weeks.
Given that “quattro” is in the name, we can safely assume that the AI:Trail will feature a form of AWD. Whether it’ll be an electric motor per axle or per wheel, or a combination of both strategies, is unknown. By the looks of it however, it should prove to be quite capable with incredible approach and departure angles. The complete absence of front and rear overhangs is a tell-tale sign.
The lunar-module styling is complemented by a large greenhouse which would make a trek into the wilderness that mush more pleasing. Ingress and egress should be easy and enabled by what looks to be suicide doors although the step-in height seems high judging by the size of the wheels and tires.
The Audi AI:Trail Quattro concept is the fourth in a series from Audi that includes the Aicon sedan, PB18 grand tourer, and AI:ME hatchback.
