The Audi RS6 Avant is coming to North America

According to CarBuzz, several sources at Audi America have confirmed the arrival of the A6 and RS6 Avant in North America.

The sublime Audi RS6 Avant, the unicorn North American fans have been begging the German manufacturer to bring to this side of the Atlantic, could hit our shores next year. Can this dream actually become reality?

According to the American website, the Audi A6 and RS6 Avant will land in North America for their next generation.

CarBuzz mentions that their source at Audi confirmed with two Audi USA executives the arrival of the A6 duo on our roads by 2020. They would get here at the same time as the new Audi RS7.

The new generation of the Audi RS6 is expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next September. Assembled in the same factory as the RS7, the RS6 is expected to be powered by the 4.0L V8 twin-turbo engine currently found in the Porsche Panamera Turbo.

Several sites indicated last year that this new RS6 will develop more than 600 hp and nearly 600 lbs-ft of torque.

Autocar reported in July that the new Audi RS6, will not only have more power but also be lighter. Thanks to the second-generation MLB platform, the car would lose nearly 80 kg which would help it sprint from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.

On the North American market, the Audi RS6 Avant would come into direct competition with the Mercedes-AMG E63 Wagon.

Are these rumours true or false? We can’t know for sure… until we see it with our own eyes. Only time will tell.
