The Cadillac XT4-V Might Be A Thing

Leaked pictures of a Cadillac XT4 with “2.7T” badges are a significant clue that a Cadillac XT4-V is forthcoming.

News, or rumours, of a 2020 Cadillac XT4-V are not exactly surprising. Compact luxury SUVs with extra power are not foreign concepts, at least not today. All the Germans are doing it so what not Cadillac?

As stated, the XT4-V’s engine compartment would harbour a turbocharged 2.7-litre 4-cylinder good for 310-horsepower (up to 320) and 348 lb.-ft. of torque (up to 369), a considerable leap from the standard turbocharged 2.0-litre engine. The boosted 4-cylinder produces 237-horsepower and 258 torques which actually makes for a lively compact crossover. Another difference is that the 2.7T, or L3B, relies on a 10-speed automatic transmission as it does in the CT4-V. The regular XT4 has a 9-speed auto.

Besides the boost in power, should the XT4-V come, it will surely gain various visual accents as denoted by the CT4- and CT5-V. Expect specific wheels, black accents, along with a possible limited-slip differential and Brembo brakes.

With the 2020 Caddy XT4 already available, it’s difficult to pinpoint when the XT4-V would become a thing. Cadillac society suspects that a reveal will occur either in the next few months or sometime before mid-2020.
