The Eccentrica V12 Roadster is a Modernized and Customizable Lamborghini Diablo Convertible

• Eccentrica makes restomods based on the Lamborghini Diablo, giving them more modern powertrain and chassis components.

• The V12 Roadster is the company’s second model and will be limited to only 19 units.

• It is powered by a 550-horsepower 5,7L V12 engine and a six-speed manual transmission.

Two years after having unveiled its first model at The Quail, Eccentrica will officially launch its second creation during the 2026 edition of this prestigious automotive gathering, which will take place on August 14^th in Carmel, California, as part of the Monterey Car Week.

Known as the V12 Roadster, this new model is simply a convertible version of its first model, which is itself a restomod of the 1990s Lamborghini Diablo.

The small company aims to preserve the character of the original Diablo while allowing buyers to benefit from modern powertrain and chassis components, along with an almost limitless level of personalization.

Based on the first series of the Diablo Roadster, originally produced from 1995 to 1998, the Eccentrica V12 Roadster is powered by a rear mid-mounted 5.7 L V12 engine rather than the more powerful 6.0L engine used in the last Diablo Series 2.

While the 5,7L engine generated between 485 horsepower and 587 horsepower depending on the variant, the restomod is said to deliver 550 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels.

This power increase over the original is courtesy of a remapped engine control unit (ECU), improved thermal management, and optimized airflow.

Like the old Diablo, the Eccentrica is available only with a gated six-speed manual transmission in order to preserve the car’s lauded analogue driving feel.

Decidedly modern are the three selectable drive modes, which make it possible for the driver to tailor the driving experience thanks to custom semi-active dampers. The suspension geometry was also reworked, and carbon fibre reinforcements were added to the chassis.

The Diablo’s hydraulically-assisted power steering system was retained since it provides more road feel than contemporary electrically-assisted systems, but braking is handled by a modern Brembo setup.

These heavy-duty brakes are not superfluous, as Eccentrica advertises the top speed of the V12 Roadster at 335 kilometres per hour (208 mph) and a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 3.8 seconds.

The driver and passenger are surrounded in Connolly leather and Alcantara fabrics, recalling the materials used in the original Diablo, but they are faced with a 90s-inspired digital instrument cluster and lots of exposed carbon fibre.

While the exterior design of the Eccentrica V12 Roadster remains quite true to the Diablo, more than 3,500 new components were created exclusively for the restomod and each of the vehicle’s system was completely reworked.

The body itself is no exception, as Eccentrica recreated the look of the Diablo entirely in steel and carbon fibre, altering the car’s proportions and widening its track to provide more stable handling and a more planted look, without distorting the Diablo’s iconic silhouette.

To do so, the company collaborated with Maurizio Reggiani, former Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini and the main architect of the Murciélago, Gallardo, Aventador, and Huracán.

To make sure the removable roof wouldn’t negatively affect performance and passenger comfort, Eccentrica even made a dedicated aerodynamic study of the Roadster, which is uncommon for vehicles with such low production figures.

Speaking of which, only 19 units of the V12 Roadster will ever be made, the same number as the closed-roof V12.

The Eccentrica V12 Roadster will make its public debut at the Quail on Friday.
