Many still think that GTS, or “Gran Turismo Sport”, is all about performance. The truth is that GTS is much about speed but it’s also about luxury and comfort in the true grand touring tradition. The new 2021 Porsche Macan GTS is a combination of some of Porsche’s best packages and design features which create a product that is wholly irresistible.
Among the many tell-tale signs that give away a Porsche GTS are the varios black painted elements including the darkened LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and the rear LED lights with LED light bar. While in the rear, the diffuser and the standard sports exhaust system tailpipes are also black. Oh, and let’s not forget the satin-gloss black 20-inch RS Spyder Design wheels.
Another sign of good GTS things is the lowered chassis, 25mm in this case. The Porsche Air Suspension including Active Suspension Management (PASM) damping delivers the comfort for the long road, and the desired dynamic handling for the mountain pass somewhere along the way.
The new 2021 Porsche Macan GTS’ power comes courtesy of the 2.9-litre V6 with hot-in-the-V twin turbos. The resulting 375-horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque (between 1,500-5,000 rpm) allows the Macan to reach 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 261 km/h.
Finally, the cabin features Alcantara, sport seats, and a multifunction sports steering wheel – a fine place to be in all driving situations.
The new 2021 Porsche Macan GTS arrives next summer and will be priced from $77,100 to start.
