After a few years of absence, the 2020 Ford Expedition will be back with a King Ranch Edition, announced the manufacturer.
With sales up, Ford decided it was time to return to popular editions with its 2020 Expedition. That’s why the American carmaker announced the reintroduction of the popular King Ranch Edition in its US lineup. Along the King Ranch, for also adds an upgraded Platinum model.
“The King Ranch name carries with it a legacy of hard work that defines the American ranching lifestyle, with the heritage and family traditions Ford Expedition represents,” said Andrew Kernahan, Expedition chief engineer. “It’s a great addition to the lineup, growing Expedition’s appeal and personality in Texas as well as with customers across the U.S. looking for western-inspired style and timeless design.”
The decision to bring this legendary model back into the lineup is based on the fact that sales are up, says the manufacturer. Indeed, according to Ford, U.S. sales of the Expedition for 2019 were up 56 percent versus the same period last year, through August, adding that one in five Expedition buyers opts for the top-end Platinum model.
The 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch features Stone Gray paint on the grille mesh, power-deployable running boards, rear bumper skid plate, trailer hitch cover, roof-rack side rails and side mirror caps. To complete the exterior look, the traditional King Ranch badging can be seen on the body sides, the liftgate and the wheel center caps.
In the cabin, the Expedition King Ranch will sport a premium Del Rio leather across all three rows of seats, as well as the door trim.
The 2020 King Ranch will be available on both the 2020 Ford Expedition and the Expedition MAX extended-wheelbase.
