Ford had announced a more extreme version of the F-150 Raptor when the current model was introduced and today is when this model goes on sale.
The 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is the most powerful Raptor pickup ever made and it is the first F-150 Raptor to be powered by a V8 engine since 2014.
Under the hood of this off-road performance truck sits a supercharged 5.2L V8 engine that was previously found in the Mustang Shelby GT500. This engine delivers 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque in the Raptor R.

In order to withstand the challenges of off-road driving and desert racing, the engine’s cooling and oiling systems have been modified to make it run cooler in intense heat and to ensure a constant flow of oil even when driving on steep grades.
The Raptor R marks the first time a V8 engine has powered an F-150 Raptor model since the end of the first generation in 2014.

In order for it to tackle any off-road situation, Ford reinforced many of the driveline components of the Raptor R, such as the 10-speed automatic transmission and the front axle.
The rest of the suspension features all of the same elements that are found in the regular F-150 Raptor, such as the off-road suspension with adaptive FOX shocks that are able to sense the ground and adjust their response accordingly.

The Raptor R is distinguishable from other F-150 Raptor models via its larger power bulge on the hood, the unique graphics on the sides of the bed and the orange R badges affixed to the grille, power bulge, and tailgate.
Inside, the Raptor R gains real carbon fibre accents and Recaro seats upholstered in Black leather and Alcantara.
This most extreme version of the Raptor can now be ordered from Ford and the automaker expects its production to start towards the end of the year.
