This model gains 16 horsepower for a total of 657 while weight is down 47 kg (103 lbs)
A new RALLY mode makes it more competent on dirt roads
The Performante is also lower and wider than the regular model
Lamborghini announced the Urus Performante, which is a lower, wider, lighter, and more powerful version of the regular Urus SUV.
This new model promises to increase the performance of the Urus further than before by adding power and by removing weight, in addition to making it lower and wider to improve its driving dynamics.
Under the hood, the same twin-turbocharged 4.0L V8 is present, but it has been tuned to deliver 16 more horsepower, which brings the total to 657.
At the same time, the overall weight of the Urus goes down by 47 kilos (103 pounds) via more extensive use of carbon fibre throughout, which includes the entire hood.
This results in a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of only 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 306 km/h, in addition to improved handling.
In order to make it even more competent around corners, Lamborghini gave the Urus Performante a new rear spoiler that increases downforce by 38% as well as new suspension springs that lower the entire chassis by 20 millimetres over the regular Urus.
In addition, the track was widened by 16 millimetres, which calls for new 22 or 23-inch wheels and carbon fibre wheel arch extensions.
To help with driving on loose surfaces such as dirt and sand, the Urus Performante benefits from a new RALLY mode in addition to all of the existing drive modes. Activating this mode makes the Urus more tail-happy and easier to drift.
The rear of the Urus Performante is recognizable due to the carbon fibre diffuser that surrounds the titanium Akrapovič exhaust system developed especially to give the Performante a recognizable Lamborghini sound.
Inside, the Urus Performante distinguishes itself from the regular model with its Alcantara seats that feature a new hexagonal pattern as well as a number of exclusive colours and trim combinations.
Lamborghini says this version of the Urus will reach its first customers by the end of the current year and it has released the entry price for some markets, including the United States, where it will cost $260,676.
