- This is the second year in a row for the Mazda3.
- The all-new Mazda3 was introduced for 2019 and has garnered numerous awards since.
Receiving the vote for the 2020 Canadian Car of the Year signifies that the Mazda3 is a two-time winner of the title. The compact Mazda3 was completely redesign for the 2019 model and the results speak for themselves.
Available as either a sedan of a sporty hatchback, the new Mazda3 combines styling, safety and performance. On the latter point, the Mazda3 can now be equipped with i-Activ AWD making it a rare offering in the segment.
The fact that the Mazda3 has won two consecutive titles demonstrates that Mazda has achieved its goal of blending premium elements with the latest technologies as it was selected from across 51 entries, including last year’s category winners and this year’s next-generation or significantly updated vehicles. Voting data was collected anonymously from more than 1,200 ballots.
This is a deserved award for the Mazda3 as we think it is among the best of the best in its segment. Unfortunately, the Mazda3 is not selling anywhere near as well as it should. Perhaps this coveted AJAC award will help tune Canadian consumers into the car.
