We already know the Integra will be a 5-door hatchback.
It is expected to arrive in early 2022.
Acura’s taken a huge risk in resurrecting the Integra. Although we have our doubts that they’ll get completely right, they are so far on the right track. The latest nugget of information is a significant one as we now know a 6-speed manual transmission will be offered.
Acura’s press release reveals little more than this leaving us to wonder what the 6-speed manual transmission will be connected to. The hope is that the Si’s turbocharged 1.5-litre 4-cylinder will be the “base” engine while a Type S version will sport the upcoming Civic Type R’s 2.0-litre turbo-4.
Both the new Integra and Civic Type R are making their rounds on the internet with plenty of spy shots surfacing here and there. This gives reason to believe that both development teams are either one-and-the-same or that they are in constant communication with each other.
As for the brief video, we love the manual-shifter mash-up and the 4-cylinder engine sounds. This is a good omen as far as we’re concerned.
