A drop-top grand tourer doesn’t get much better than this.
The V8 now joins the W12 and will be offered in all markets.
The superb roof requires only 19 seconds to operate at speeds up to 50 km/h.
When one wants the best of the best when it comes to luxury motoring, there exists only a handful of options. While Rolls Royce may be the ultimate in foremost luxury, they always seem somewhat “cold”. Bentley cars, however, are very personal and warm. And none better expresses this sense than the new Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible.
This newly updated grand touring convertible is more refined than ever thanks in large part to the new roof. In fact, the new Bentley convertible displays levels of quietness and sophistication comparable to that of the previous generation coupe, with its fixed roof.
The secret lies in the combination of upgraded roof insulating materials and the operating mechanism, a better sealing system, and acoustic treatments. The result of all these efforts is that this new Convertible is as quiet for occupants while driving as was the previous generation Continental GT Coupe. Also aiding in making this Continental GT V8 Convertible is the presence of laminated acoustic glass for the windscreen and side windows.
Discerning Bentley purchasers will be able to select from 56 interior and roof colour combinations including a contemporary interpretation of British tweed for the soft top. The roof mechanism requires 19 seconds to operate at speeds up to 50 km/h so the driver will need to feather the throttle. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 develops 542-horsepower and 568 lb.-ft. of torque, enough to get the GT to 100 km/h in only 4 seconds.
The best part however is that the Bentley Continental GT V8 Convertible is stunning no matter if the roof is stowed or in place.
