In the early Thursday morning hours, BMW lifted the wraps off their latest creation at Pebble Beach: the all-new 2019 Z4. The biggest and bestest part of the new car is that it features a soft-top, and not a retractable hardtop unit like the previous car.
The new 2019 Z4 is inspired by the equally new 8 Series coupe. The signs are the wide haunches all around, thin taillights, and fluidly surfaced sheetmetal. When the car arrives next spring, it seems as though will mark the occasion with a First Edition model. It will feature special trim, paint, a cloth top with silver accents, and 19-inch 10-spoke wheels.
Two versions are expected: the 30i and an M40i. The latter will be the performance iteration with a 380 horsepower and 370 lb.-ft. of torque with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 cylinder. The 30i will get a 260-horsepower boosted 2.0-litre 4-cylinder. A ZF 8-speed automatic will be your only transmission choice.
BMW promises to release more if not all the information on the new Toyota Supra’s non-identical twin on September 18th.
