The New Chevy Corvette C8.R Headed To Daytona 24 In January

The new Chevy Corvette is set to race and win with the new C8.R.

Last night was the big reveal event for the new 2020 Chevy Corvette Convertible. Last July, Chevrolet unleashed the all-new mid-engine-d C8 Chevy Corvette on the world following months and months of speculation. This round belonged to the Convertible, or so we thought. GM teased everyone with the C8.R race car.

The previous-generation Chevy Corvette C7.R race car did well for itself through countless racing events including the 24H Le Mans and the Daytona 24. The arrival of the new C8, with its mid-engine configuration, has paved the way for what turn out to be the coolest, most badass and possibly most competitive Corvette race car ever.

No specific details on the C8.R were shared at last night’s C8 Convertible reveal event but Chevy did mention that we will see it in action very soon as in only a few months from now in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the legendary Rolex 24 At Daytona this coming January.

Many speculate that the car will feature GM’s Blackwing twin-turbo V8 engine currently found in Cadillac products. We look forward to learning more!
