The new G90 gains 4-wheel steering and a multi-chamber air suspension.
Powering the G90 is Genesis’ twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine.
The cabin is pure opulence.
The large luxury sedan segment is a steadily dying breed. Even so, those that remain in the category are all exceptional, but one stands out for unusual reasons. While all others focus on technology and performance, Genesis prioritizes opulence and well-being above all with their new G90.
For the new 2023 G90, Genesis has updated the car’s design with the brand’s signature crest grille and two-line headlamps. They match the two-line rear combination lamps that together, delineate the large sedan’s elegant lines.
The cabin is where it’s at, however. And the Genesis G90 treats all of its occupants equally. The front passengers are faced with a beautiful and unique dashboard that features wing-like shapes and the brand’s next-generation infotainment system. It’s comprised of a new cluster and navigation which are blended into a panoramic display known as the connected car Integrated Cockpit (ccIC).
The whole interior of the G90 is covered in the highest quality materials. The rear seats can be reclined separately for absolute comfort. The amount of space offered to passengers is immense and Genesis has thought of nearly everything. They’ve even gone so far as to G90 also provides various storage spaces such as an independent tray for magazines and books in the C-pillar area of the second row.
Much of the materials used in the cabin are sourced with Genesis’ philosophy of sustainable luxury. This is reflected in the G90’s use of Newspaper Crown Wood and Newspaper Stripe Wood. The material is made utilizing a new method that minimizes its impact on the environment by reprocessing wastepaper from daily life, including newspapers.
The driving experience, already impressive in the previous G90, will be enhanced thanks to a new suspension technology that includes Preview-Electronic Control Suspension (Preview-ECS) as a basic feature, which optimizes control of the suspension by utilizing a front camera to recognize road conditions. This system will work in conjunction with the Multi-Chamber air suspension, which alters air pressure in the air springs. As well, the new G90 will get Rear Wheel Steering (RWS). The rear wheels on will turn a maximum of four degrees in a low-speed counter-phase (moving them in the opposite direction of the front wheels) and to a maximum of two degrees in a high-speed in-phase (moving them in the same direction as the front wheels).
Powering the G90 will be the familiar twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the power will be sent to either the rear wheels or all four.
The new 2023 Genesis G90 will also be delivered with a long list of safety and advanced driving technologies. As well, it will include a host of intuitive features, including Virtual Venue, Mood Curator, and an Armrest Touch System, all in the name of heightening the occupants’ level of comfort and wellbeing.
Deliveries of the new Genesis G90 will begin in 2022. Pricing and specification will be available at a later date.
