The New Mercedes-Benz CLE Revealed

  • Mercedes-Benz reveals CLE Coupé, fusing C-Class and E-Class features, with sporty, elegant design and mild-hybrid engines.

  • CLE Coupé interior exudes luxury, providing ample space and advanced MBUX infotainment system; Canadian variant offers 255 hp powertrain.

  • Standard-lowered chassis and driver assistance systems enhance CLE Coupé’s sportiness and safety; set for Canadian release early next year.

Building on its tradition of creating sporty, elegant dream cars, Mercedes-Benz is set to launch an independent series: the CLE Coupé. This two-door car seamlessly integrates the technical and conceptual innovations of the C-Class and E-Class. Characterized by its expressive design, exclusive comfort equipment, and confident, sporty driving performance, the CLE Coupé is a bold departure, carving its own path.

Powerful Presence and Proportions

The CLE Coupé’s striking exterior exhibits the Mercedes-Benz commitment to Sensual Purity in design. The model’s long wheelbase, pronounced shoulders, and large wheels combine to project power and dynamism, making a clear emotional statement. The iconic Mercedes-Benz design language further manifests in the car’s athletic front section, defined by its low-slung bonnet, flat LED headlights, and three-dimensional radiator grille. Complementing these attributes is the rear section’s muscular profile, featuring flowing surfaces, smooth transitions, and two-part LED lights with unique contours.

The Luxurious Interior and Spatial Accommodations

The interior of the CLE Coupé is all about space and luxury. At 4,850 millimetres long, 1,860 millimetres wide, and 1,428 millimetres high, this two-door model offers significantly more room than the C-Class Coupé. Rear passengers, in particular, will appreciate the extra space for headroom, shoulder and elbow room, and knee room. The trunk volume is also impressive, providing 60 litres more volume than its predecessor.

Technological Innovations and Electrified Performance

Embracing the digital age, the CLE Coupé incorporates numerous innovations from the new E-Class. The third generation of the MBUX infotainment system, coupled with a new electronics architecture, makes it the most intelligent coupé bearing the Mercedes star. The vehicle’s available engines worldwide are exclusively mild hybrids with an integrated starter generator and a 48-volt electrical system, demonstrating efficient performance through systematic electrification.

Specifically for Canadian customers, the CLE Coupé comes equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder powertrain in the Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC, producing 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This tailoring of engine offerings ensures an optimal blend of performance and efficiency for every market.

Sportiness and Safety

The sportiness of the CLE Coupé is underlined by its standard-lowered chassis. Combined with optional DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL, offering adjustable damping on the front and rear axles, it assures agile and comfortable driving pleasure. The Coupé, despite its larger dimensions, also boasts a smaller turning circle than the C-Class Coupé. The CLE Coupé is fitted with numerous driver assistance systems, including ATTENTION ASSIST, Active Brake Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist, further bolstering safety.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupe, shaping desire in its elegant yet sporty appearance, is set to arrive in Canadian dealerships early next year. The open-air counterpart, the CLE Cabriolet, will follow soon after, further expanding the Mercedes-Benz dream car series.
