The New Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer get Their Wood On

The woodgrain was the final piece that was missing for the all-new Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs

  • The Wagonmaster company has created a woodgrain and molding package for the new trucks.

  • Pricing is $1,899.99 USD.

Such a woodgrain kit was inevitable. From the moment Stellantis hinted that both the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer were making a comeback, everyone had one question on their: Will there be a woodgrain option? There is now thanks to Wagonmaster.

The woodgrain kit isn’t, you’ll not be surprised to learn, made of wood. Instead, the material used is vinyl, according to Carscoops, and for its intended use, is ideal. The paneling stretches from a few inches from the rear taillight all the way to about an inch from the headlight. In most pictures, it covers a little more than 50% of the doors while the trim hugs the wheel fenders. It also includes a cut-to-fit luggage rack strip for each side and a rear license plate surround.

We admittedly love the kit although we would have liked the decal to reach lower ahead of the front wheels to mimic the iconic original design. It’s true that the front overhangs are far shorter on the new trucks, so the point is moot.

The full kit retails for $1,899.99 US and is sold by Texas-based Wagonmaster. The company also sells wood molding kits and cut-to-fit kits for 1976-1986 and 1987-1991 generation Wagoneers. This is great news for nostalgic Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer buyers and owners.
