Porsche launched a new version of its small two-seater sports car, the Boxster and Cayman T. Designed for the sole purpose of conquering the roads this version should appeal to purists.
The 718 Boxster T and 718 Cayman T will be powered by the same 2.0L turbocharged engine developing 300 horsepower as the base version of the 718. That said, a host of equipment, focused on driving, is added to improve its handling.
We are talking here the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports chassis lowered by 20 millimetres, 20-inch wheels, a shortened gear lever and the Sport Chrono package that includes four driving modes. In addition, the 718 T is equipped with the PADM system that Porsche explains as follows: “a system which minimises vibrations in the engine/gearbox area and reduces movements that could affect driving dynamics as a result of the total mass of the drivetrain. ”
Porsche mentions the essence of the new 718 T perfectly in its press release: ” Traditionally, “T” stands for “Touring” in Porsche models, and is synonymous with driving pleasure in its purest form. The 718 T will be most at home on winding country roads, offering the joy of dynamic driving as its ultimate goal. ”
The metal interior handles were removed in exchange for fabric ones and the PCM (Porsche Communication Management) is now replaced by a large storage compartment.
A total of seven colors is being offered on the Porsche 718 Boxster T and 718 Cayman T including Lava Orange and Miami Blue.
For now, no information on the 718 T pricing for Canada is available.
