The Top 10 Fastest-Selling New Cars in September 2021

Hybrids and compact vehicles lead last month’s top 10 fastest-selling vehicles

  • The new-car business is still going through some tough times.

  • The average new car took 24.6 days to sell in September 2021.

  • The Subaru Crosstrek is last month’s hot number.

One of the big news items in 2021, beyond the ongoing mess that the Pandemic has left the car business in, is that Toyota is on track to outselling General Motors in the US for the first time ever. Last month’s Top 10 fast-selling new vehicle list supports this assessment.

It’s not the first time that Toyota’s held many spots in these Top 10 lists. September 2021’s list sees five out of the ten sporting a Toyota logo while only two fall under GM’s large corporate umbrella, matching Subaru’s entries. The latter are the real winners of the month.

Last month, the average new car required 24.6 days to sell compared to 26 days in August. In September, according to iSeeCars’ study, the Subaru Crosstrek needed only 7.8 days, besting the Corvette at 8.6 days, and rounding out the top 3, the Subaru Forester at 9.5 days.
