The Sienna took over from the Previa in 1998.
Nearly 300,000 have been sold in Canada since.
The current 4th generation launched for the 2021 model year.
As Motor Illustrated’s resident minivan expert, I thought it important to bring to light that the delightful Toyota Sienna is turning 25 in 2023. The Sienna was quite the departure from the RWD/AWD supercharged mid-engine quirky Previa when it arrived for 1998, but it was the right decision.
2022 Toyota Sienna Hybrid Trim Review: Toyota Canada Makes You Pay for the Sienna You Need
In 25 years, nearly 300,000 Canadians have purchased the minivan which has evolved considerably over four generations. To mark the occasion, Toyota Canada has introduced a limited-availability 25th Anniversary Edition based on the XSE AWD grade which happens to be, in my opinion, the better packaged Sienna.
For its Silver anniversary, the 2023 Sienna will be available painted in Celestial Silver, with Wind Chill Pearl as a second colour choice. The exterior will feature special black badging and trim such as on the mirrors caps and shark fin antenna.
The vast cabin will include Limited-trim-sourced elements such as black leather-trimmed seating with silver stitching, including heated and ventilated front seats with memory. The Limited’s memory steering column and second-row seats with ottomans will also be fitted to the 25th Anniversary Edition.
Pricing for all 2023 Sienna versions will be announced later this summer and they will be available at Toyota dealerships shortly thereafter, or so we hope… If you’ve shopped a new Sienna, you know that delivery delays extend well beyond a year at the moment.
