The Vision Mercedes Simplex Is The Future Past

With a history as rich as Mercedes-Benz’s, who else would create such a stunning blend of the past and the future?

Looking though the pictures of the Vision Mercedes Simplex had us wondering why no other carmaker had attempted this before. And then we remembered that Mercedes-Benz essentially pioneered the modern car.

The Vision Mercedes Simplex is a super-retro super-modern interpretation of the Mercedes 35 PS which was introduced nearly 120 years ago. Its configuration consisting in a low-mounted engine with a radiator positioned up front, all of it in a low and flat car body was revolutionary at the time.

The Mercedes 35 PS was innovation and luxury and went on to conquer racing events following its reveal in Nice, France. As a nod to the fact the Mercedes-Benz continues to lead the way in all things automobile, they’ve created the Vision Simplex which is an incredibly appealing combination of luxury and modern technology with a decidedly classic and vintage feel.

The open-wheel design, with large wheels (!) and two-seater layout of the Vision Mercedes Simplex is further adorned with a stunning combination of a rose-gold front radiator frame, white front section and black rear quarter with matching wheels. The cabin, if we can call it that, is seamless with nothing more than a steering column and it is blue.

This is a stunning masterpiece.
