The Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake is Coming

These two pictures represent the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake, which will be named the Volkswagen CC Travel Edition in China.

  • Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake was announced 2 years ago;
  • Leaked photos are showing the full car who has yet to be unveiled;
  • In China, it will be named Volkswagen CC Travel Edition.

It was a couple of years ago when Volkswagen confirmed to the British publication Auto Express that the Arteon Shooting Brake was on its way. Since then, nothing new arose. Until now.

Indeed, a few Chinese outlets published earlier today two pictures of the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake in what seems to be a factory. Also said by the publications is the new nameplate the car will get in China, the Volkswagen CC Travel Edition.

Painted in what looks like Kurkuma Yellow Metallic, this Volkswagen CC Travel Edition is being built by FAW-Volkswagen. This joint venture between FAW Group and Volkswagen Group has four assembly plants around China where it produces cars for the VW Group.

First off, we can notice a different lower front bumper, bigger air intakes as well as chrome on this all-new Arteon Shooting Brake compared to the regular sedan version.

Another thing we can learn from those spy shots is the appearance of more rugged fenders and a slightly higher stance that reminds us of the Volkswagen Passat Alltrack. The rear is quite similar other than a different chrome strip next to the exhausts.

According to the Chinese publications, the Volkswagen CC Travel Edition will offer the same powertrain options as the Arteon sedan, the 2.0 TSI mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Also, the top trims will be available with the optional 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
