The Volkswagen ID.4 will have a range of up to 500 km;
The global car will be launched later this year in multiple markets.
Launched almost three years ago at the Frankfurt Auto Show, Volkswagen unwrapped the (almost) final evolution of the ID.CROZZ concept, the ID.4. Joining the all-new Volkswagen ID.3 on the market, the ID.4 will be sold in Europe, China and, North America, which marks the first global car of the ID. family.
Following in the ID.3’s footsteps, the newest ID. member will be launched this year with rear-wheel drive only, for now. An electric all-wheel drive version of the ID.4 will be added to the lineup later on according to Volkswagen, without specifying a date.
Thanks to the MEB platform, the ID.4 will be able to have a low centre of gravity since the batteries will be positioned near the center of the underbody. That being said, the Wolfsburg manufacturer confirmed the all-electric ID.4 will have a range of up to 500 kilometres, depending on the version.
Inside, the Volkswagen ID.4 SUV will offer plenty of space as well as a fully digital cockpit and, according to the carmaker it will be “operated primarily using touch surfaces and intelligent, intuitive voice control.”
The photos also reveal that the new EV SUV will get Volkswagen’s IQ.Light LED matrix headlights.
