30 hand-built PMC RDXs sold in less than 24 hours
Eye-searing paint, hand-assembly for special Acura
Just a couple of weeks ago, Acura announced that it would be offering a special Performance Manufacturing Center edition of the RDX crossover. Finished in NSX orange, hand-assembled, and limited to only 30 for all of Canada. And it sold out in less than a day.
We didn’t expect an eye-searing Thermal Orange RDX to be a popular choice, and there’s not even an official MSRP yet, but all 30 of the PMC edition RDXs were snagged in a day when the pre-sale order books opened on September 22nd.
The Acura RDX PMC gets more than just the Thermal Orange paint in common with the NSX hybrid supercar. The 30 cars (and 300 for the US) will all be assembled at Acura’s Performance Manufacturing Center. The PMC is where Acura hand-builds the NSX, and the RDX PMC will get that same treatment. Put together by a team of experts, this is now the third PMC edition, with the MDX and TLX getting the treatment previously.
On top of the hand-assembly and bright orange, the RDX PMC will get Platinum Elite’s convenience and luxury features combined with the A-Spec’s styling touches and sport seats. It will also have a mix of body colour and gloss-black trim along with 20-inch alloys, black exhaust tips, and orange stitching accents on the inside. And a numbered plate to let owners know which of the limited edition they have. The pricing is set to be “around $58,000”, but Acura hasn’t set a firm number yet.
