Three Features That Help the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Stand Out in the Crowd

2020 Chrysler Pacifica reminds us that the minivan segment isn't dead

  • Family-friendly features such as a bagless vacuum cleaner make every journey enjoyable
  • Over 100 standard and available safety features
  • Award-winning Hybrid model averages 2.9 Le/100 km

The minivan segment may not be as popular as it once was, the fact remains that there is still a significant portion of Canadians with versatility needs that far exceed what your typical SUV can offer. For these buyers, a minivan is indispensable and luckily for them, there are still automakers that are putting quite a bit of effort in designing the very best minivan they possibly can.

The Chrysler Pacifica is the perfect example. Named best EV by the Automotive Journalists Association of Canada in 2020, the Pacifica is the only hybrid minivan available in Canada. That alone gives it an undeniable advantage over its competition in the fuel economy department.

“People are always amazed at the Pacifica’s fuel consumption numbers. They can’t believe that a minivan can be so efficient and we’re not just talking about the hybrid model either”, says a sales representative at Grenier Chrysler in Terrebonne, a suburb of Montreal.

The Pacifica is available with either a proven Pentastar 3.6-litre V6 or a plug-in hybrid hybrid that combines the V6 with an electric powertrain. Although the PHEV model is by far the most efficient, the proven V6 is no slouch in that department either. Let’s take a closer look.

Remarkable Fuel Economy

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid can drive 51 kilometres on electric power only. In other words, you can take the kids to practice or get to work without using a single drop of fuel. It also has a range of 835 kilometres and an average fuel economy rating of 2.9 Le/100 km. The V6-powered Chrysler Pacifica averages just 8.4 litres per 100 kilometres on the highway. In other words, versatility doesn’t come at the expense of efficiency.
