The CIAS is the biggest new car show in Canada.
The event is once more being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
Public dates run from February 17th to the 26th.
We have to be excited about the 2023 edition of the big Canadian International Auto Show. So much has gone into making this event happen even though the current auto-show format looks to be running out of steam. As always, if you’re going to visit one major auto show in Canada, the CIAS in Toronto is definitely the one to aim for.
As with last January’s Montreal auto show, a significant number of automakers will not be present. And again, this will give other car companies the opportunity to shine. Furthermore, the CIAS will host plenty of special displays including the Cobble Beach Classics Presents 75 Years of Porsche, Pfaff, and Grand Touring Automobiles will have loads of new and old bling to show off, the LEGO Group will be out in force, and we’ll get to see the all-Canadian Project Arrow.
The 2023 Canadian International Auto Show opens its doors to the public on Friday, February 17th at noon. While there, make sure you check out the following vehicles:
Alfa Romeo Tonale
The Tonale is the new entry-level model for Alfa Romeo which will be powered by either a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder or a plug-in hybrid setup that provides more power and over 48 kilometres of electric range.

Chevrolet Blazer EV
The 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV will be an electric mid-size SUV that will sit above the Equinox EV in the brand’s lineup. This model will be offered in LT, RS, and SS trim levels, the latter of which will feature 557 horsepower. The longest range will be achieved by the RS version, which will be able to drive 515 kilometres on a charge.
Dodge Hornet
The Dodge Hornet is an American clone of the Alfa Romeo Tonale that differs only in terms of style and features. The Hornet, therefore, shares the same gasoline and PHEV powertrains as the Tonale.

Genesis Electrified GV70
The strategy for Electrification at Genesis consists in offering gasoline and fully electric versions of the same models, which is why after the Electrified G80, Genesis is launching the Electrified GV70.
GMC Sierra EV
GMC will showcase its upcoming Sierra EV at the Toronto show. This electric pickup will be mechanically similar to the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV, which means we can expect up to 754 horsepower in the launch model and up to 644 kilometers of range.
Hyundai RN22e
The Hyundai RN22e is a concept that shows what a more powerful “N” version of the new IONIQ 6 electric sedan could look like with its larger wheels, modified bodywork and large rear wing. Under this body, two electric motors deliver a combined output of 577 horsepower.

Hyundai N Vision 74
This retro-styled EV is the Hyundai N Vision 74, which is an homage to the Pony Coupe Concept of 1974 which was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro. Also a part of the “N” performance lineup, this concept delivers 670 horsepower from two motors powered by a 62 kWh battery and a hydrogen fuel cell.
Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos will receive updates to its front and rear-end designs for the 2024 model year along with a new dashboard that is inspired by the EV6 and the new Sportage. More power from the available turbocharged engine and an additional gear in the automatic transmission are also part of the refresh.
Project Arrow
Project Arrow is an initiative from the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association of Canada to showcase the capabilities of the Canadian automotive industry by building an electric car that uses 100% Canadian components and engineering.
Stellantis Camp Jeep:
For the first time ever, Camp Jeep is coming to Canada! With its Trail Rated indoor off-road course, visitors of the AutoShow will get a chance to try out the legendary Jeep vehicles without having to leave the floor. Passengers will take a ride in some of the latest Jeep models — including PHEV Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe — and go through five uniquely designed obstacles that’ll showcase their off-roading capabilities.

Subaru Crosstrek
Subaru recently unveiled a refreshed Crosstrek for the 2024 model year. As is often the case with Subaru, this model looks fairly similar to the previous one apart from a more aggressive front end, a revised rear end, and more technologies inside.
Toyota Grand Highlander
Toyota recently unveiled the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, a larger version of its current three-row mid-size SUV that claims to have an “adult-size” rear seat. This model will be powered by a choice of three powertrains that include a turbocharged 2.4L engine and a 2.5L hybrid powertrain, both of which are used in the current Highlander. The third option will be the Hybrid Max powertrain also used in the Toyota Crown.
