Toyota has invested more than $1.1 billion in the new RAV4 program, bringing the company’s total investment in Canadian operations to over $12 billion. According to TMMC President Tim Hollander, the decision to localize production reflects Toyota’s confidence in its Canadian workforce and manufacturing capabilities.

TMMC has produced over 4 million RAV4 units since it began assembling the model in 2009. With now nearly four decades of manufacturing history in Canada, TMMC employs more than 8,500 workers across its Cambridge and Woodstock plants. In 2025, the automaker assembled more than 535,000 vehicles and is expected to reach the milestone of its 12 millionth vehicle built in Canada later this year.

The redesigned RAV4 is launching in three distinct designs and seven grades, offering a range of configurations with varying features and technologies. The sixth-generation model marks the full transition of the RAV4 line to hybrid-only powertrains.

TMMC has been named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 22 consecutive years. The company’s Ontario facilities are now the most awarded auto manufacturing sites in the world.
