Toyota Boss Rides Around In A Century GRMN

Akio Toyoda is living the dream – as Toyota CEO, he not only gets to drive whatever he wants but also be chauffeured in whatever he wants…

What is that dream? All car maniacs think about it: “If I was the boss at Porsche/GM/Hyundai/Mazda, I’d have them build me a twin engine, quad-turbo AWD 911/Escalade/G90/MX-5!”

Mr. Toyoda has a unique GRMN (Gazoo Racing) tuned Century sedan, that is in no uncertain terms, drool worthy. The video was taken in November at the end of the 2018 motorsport season for Gazoo Racing’s celebration at Japan’s Fuji Speedway.

The Toyota Century is nothing short of the Japanese giant’s flagship luxury sedan, limited to the JDM. The current 3rd generation car is a hybrid equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 engine that is part of the Toyota Hybrid System II. It is the same powertrain that once served the Lexus LS 600h L and it provides no less than 425-horsepower.

No word if it will be produced or if it’s just a one-off. Either way, it’s freakin’ cool.
