Toyota Bz4x 2023 Pricing Announced in England

  • Pricing for the 2023 Toyota bZ4X in the UK similar to Toyota RAV4 Prime

  • UK pricing gives us an idea of bZ4X pricing in Canada and the US

We don’t yet know the price of Toyota’s first electric SUV due next year, but in England the new 2023 Toyota bZ4X will have a starting price of £41,950. If you do the math, that would mean a starting price of over $70,000 in Canada, and over $55,000 in the US.

Of course, the reality is not that simple, and it would be very surprising if the 2023 Toyota bZ4X was that expensive here. So why talk about it? Because by comparing electric or hybrid models with a similar price to the bZ4X on the other side of the Atlantic, we can start to get an idea of the North American price of Toyota’s electric SUV.

For example, the plug-in hybrid Toyota RAV4 Prime has a starting price of £42,960. The Tesla Model 3 has a starting price of £42,990 while the Tesla Model Y has a starting price of £54,990, all according to Autocar.

If we look at pricing for those models in North America, we can assume that the 2023 Toyota bZ4X will have a starting price of between $45,000 and $55,000 in Canada, and between $38,000 and $50,000 in the US if the trend continues here. We can expect Toyota to offer the entry-level version of the model for less than $45,000 in Canada, in order to qualify for electric vehicle subsidies.

On the other hand, like the Toyota RAV4 Prime, the base version will probably be very difficult if not impossible to find (like all the other versions of the RAV4 Prime, but that’s another story) while dealers will receive better-equipped versions first, probably with a starting price of over $50,000 (or around $45,000 in the US).

In short, we’ll know more soon, but the pricing picture is getting clearer.
