5 Differences Between the 2025 Toyota bZ4X and the 2026 Toyota bZ
The 2026 lineup consists of three models: the bZ XLE FWD, the bZ XLE AWD at $53,390, and the Limited AWD at $61,690. Estimated vehicle prices, including freight, dealer fees, and charges, range from $49,648 to $65,348, before taxes and registration.
The 2026 bZ introduces a larger lithium-ion battery on all-wheel-drive variants, increasing total capacity to 77 kWh. Toyota estimates a maximum driving range of 468 kilometres for the XLE AWD and 436 kilometres for the Limited AWD, while the front-wheel-drive XLE offers up to 380 kilometres with its 57.7-kWh battery.
All-wheel-drive models now produce up to 338 horsepower, a 50% increase from the previous model, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 5.1 seconds.
2026 Toyota bZ First Drive: New Name, More Range, and More Power
For the first time, the bZ incorporates a North American Charging System (NACS) port, enabling access to thousands of Tesla fast-charging stations across Canada. Using DC fast charging under ideal conditions, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes. A new 11-kW onboard AC charger, upgraded from the prior 7-kW unit, is included across the lineup.
The model name has been shortened from bZ4X to bZ, and the SUV receives revised styling with a reworked front fascia, slimmer LED lighting, and optional colour-matched front and rear fenders. The cabin has been redesigned with a larger 14-inch touchscreen, updated console layout, and two wireless phone charging docks.
