Many C8 Corvette buyers must still wait for their new car.
The Toyota Supra is readily available.
Are the C8 Corvette and GR Supra equivalent cars?
If you’re waiting on your all-new C8 Chevrolet Corvette, hoping to get it for the summer driving season, you’re out of luck. The COVID-19 pandemic and other small issues have hampered GM’s ability to respond to the sustained strong demand for the anticipated sports car. Meanwhile, Yokem Toyota, located in Shreveport, Louisiana, has set up a billboard poking potentially frustrated Corvette buyers.
The billboard simply reads: “Still Waiting On A Corvette? Come Get Your Supra.” A Corvette forum member noticed it and shared it. For the most part, other forum members found the advert amusing and original. Most also point out that there’s no real comparison to be made between the new MKV Toyota GR Supra and the C8 Corvette. Well, they weren’t this nice about the comparison… Truth be told, if the Supra was so hot, Yokem Toyota would probably not have two in stock, and they wouldn’t be discounted.
The fact of the matter is that both are exceptional sports cars but the C8 is far more exotic, powerful, fast, and pound for pound over the Supra’s revised 2021 specs, not that much more expensive. As well, GM has announced that the 2021 Corvette’s pricing will be unchanged from 2020. 2021 GR Supra prices have risen slightly.
If you had the choice, would you GR Supra or C8 Corvette?
