Bronze trim offers special wheels, seats, unique paint
Also shows off some of 2022 Highlander updates
Toyota is awarding Highlander the bronze for 2022. Not because it’s their third-best-seller (it’s the fourth-best), but because the automaker says that the colour adds sophistication. The 2022 Toyota Highlander Bronze Edition will come only as a hybrid and it adds some other comfort features to go with the new trim.
The bronze edition will be offered only in the exclusive to the trim Cement paint colour or the new for 22 Highlander Wind Chill Pearl finish. In addition to the easily spotted bronze-finish wheels (in 18-inch diameter), the Bronzelander will have bronze interior stitching, illuminated door sills in bronze, and floor mats and a cargo mat embroidered in, you guessed it, bronze.
Even the seats, which Toyota calls mid-century modern-inspired, are finished in a special bronze stitching and are SofTex trimmed with fabric inserts in a look unique to this special version of the vehicle.
Other additions to the trim, which is based on the XLE Hybrid and is offered in front-wheel and all-wheel drive, include a hands-free power tailgate, rain-sensing wipers, and digital rear view mirror. The Highlander Bronze will also have a 1,500W power outlet and in-dash ambient lighting along with Highlander-logo puddle lights.
Changes like height and tilt for the power-adjust passenger seat will apply to all 2022 Highlander models XLE and up. They’re set to go on sale later this year.
