500 orders are for the Lightning pickup.
The other 30 are for the E-Transit van.
United expects to receive 150 EVs before year’s end.
United Rentals is a huge company that specializes in equipment rentals. They have more than 1,100 locations in both Canada and the US. By the end of 2022, United will add 150 EVs from Ford as part of a massive order of over 500 EVs.
When one thinks of work equipment, pickups inevitably come up. This is why United Rentals has reserved no fewer than 500 new Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickups. These trucks will serve both the rental company’s customers as well as its own employees.
Also on order are 30 of Ford’s all-electric E-Transit commercial vans. They too will be used by the company and its clients.
Of the total 530 units on order, United expects to take delivery of 120 Lightnings and all 30 vans by the end of 2022, according to techxplore.
