Upcoming Ford Mustang-Inspired Electric SUV Will Have A 600-km Range

Ford released another nugget of information on the future Mustang-inspired all-electric SUV.

Last week, Ford launched a new video series called “EV Myths Busted” that features their upcoming Mustang-inspired SUV. This series is based on a recent Ford-commissioned Global survey about the myths of electric vehicles.

Previously, Ford released a few myths that came up the survey like, “forty-two percent of Americans think electric vehicles still require gas to run” and “close to 80 percent of Americans would not pick an electric vehicle for extreme weather”.

This time around the American manufacturer addresses the range issue. The survey revealed that “40 per cent of people claim to have little or no knowledge of electric vehicles.” That being said, the survey also discovered that 45% of respondents are “claiming not stopping for fuel is a key benefit of owning one.”

Taking this into account, Ford tried to tackle this by launching a new All-Electric website. You put in your daily driving route and the website gives you how far you can travel between each charge.

“While our customers understand some of the benefits of electrified vehicles, we believe that there is a perception gap. The capability of all-electric vehicles has changed significantly recently and hence the need for education to help them in making the switch,” said Darren Palmer, Team Edison global product development director, Ford. “We’re in a period of massive change which is exciting but could be daunting for some people. By offering a range of electrified vehicles – from mild hybrids to fully electric – and busting some commonly held myths, we want to help their journey as we bring our portfolio of all-electric vehicles to market.”

Ford also take the opportunity to mention that the upcoming Mustang-inspired all-electric SUV will have a range of up to 600 kilometers.
