Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup and car manufacturing branch VinFast chose the Los Angeles Auto Show to unveil the new VF e35 and VF e36 electric SUVs, launching its global EV brand by the same token.
The Los Angeles Auto Show was a quieter event this year, but VinFast’s unveil brings a breath of fresh air and energy to the exhibition and a promise to “drive the movement of the global smart electric vehicle (EV) revolution” and realize the “Future of Mobility” for a green planet and sustainable development.
Although the specifications regarding each vehicle haven’t been released to the public just yet, we know that both the VF e35 and e36 will be powered by a 90 kWh battery. VinFast also built its very own EV platform and related technologies.
The VF e35 falls in the compact SUV segment, while the e36 caters to those who need a bigger family hauler. Physically, the e36 features “Air Curtains” in the hood and front end to redirect air from high drag areas, but the door handles, glass and trim are also flush to the body.
Both SUVs will feature a number of technologies, including driver assistance systems like Lane Assist, Collision Warning, Driver Monitoring, Fully Automated Parking, and a Summon Vehicle feature that is growing in popularity in the business.
Inside, VinFast is also integrating the usual in-car gadgets such as Voice Assistant, Virtual Assistant, and E-Commerce Services, to name a few.
VinFast’s electric SUVs should be available for pre-order in the first half of 2022, according to the company, and deliveries should start in the fourth quarter of the same year.
