Sentra was traveling at a high rate of speed and jumped a curb.
The Nissan hit the Tesla Model X above the rear wheel and pushed it quite a distance.
The force of the impact between the Nissan Sentra and the Tesla Model X was such that the compact car actually completed a full barrel roll before landing back on its wheels.
The people onboard the Tesla Model X were surely not expecting their morning commute to go this way. The driver of the Model X looks as though he or she was stopped and was waiting for an opening to merge into a lane when the with Nissan Sentra violently crashed into the Tesla’s driver side rear quarter panel.
The Sentra, in the dashcam video shared on Carscoops from PAHomepage.com’s YouTube channel, is already off the ground when it hits the Model X. The force of the impact is enough to lift the very heavy Tesla before sending it a good distance to the side.
The incident, which took place South Abington Township, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, caused only injuries to occupants – a welcome outcome. Both cars look totaled however, and impressively, the Model X’s driver’s side falcon-wing door opened completely.
