Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Planning a Huge Bus Party Next Year

The iconic Volkswagen Bus will be reborn next year, and the German automaker will throw a big party

  • It will be held at the Hannover Exhibition centre.

  • Many thousands of Bullis (all generations of the VW Bus) are expected to attend.

  • This event coincides with the arrival of the all-new all-electric ID. Buzz.

Every automaker, or nearly, has at least one model that transcends generation and has become an icon in the industry. Volkswagen has a few such models but only the Type 2 Bus will live on, at least that’s as much as we know now. Next year, VW will launch an all-new generation of the Bus and they plan to celebrate.

Known as the Bulli in many markets, Volkswagen has held a Bulli meet for years but the last one took place in 2017. But now, and officially, VW is planning a new event that will take place from July 15-17 2022 at the Hannover Exhibition centre.

Carsten Intra, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand: “Our loyal VW Bulli fans have already been waiting a long time for a revival of the meet in 2007. Next year that wait will be over, and Hannover will again be a Bulli stronghold. Together with the community, we want to celebrate the Bulli and welcome the newest member of the family: the all-electric ID. BUZZ.”

More information on the party will be shared in the fall and reservations will open early in 2022.
