A total of 13,735 Volkswagen e-Golfs were produced in 2018 reports the German manufacturer, which is more than twice the production of last year.
In 2017, the Transparent Factory, the Dresden assembly plant where Volkswagen builds the Volkswagen e-Golf, produced a total of 5,346 cars. This year, the plant mentioned on Twitter it has reached 13,735 units, making it a production record.
The factory was built in the early 2000’s to assemble the Volkswagen Phaeton is, since 2017, the place where the brand manufactures the electric version of its Golf. Every day 72 e-Golf are coming off the assembly line.
In the first eleven months of 2018, more than 45% of Volkswagen e-Golf’s produced in Dresden found buyers in Norway.
The popularity of the Transparent Factory is just starting! The production of the first member of the I.D. family, the I.D. NEO, will begin there at the end of 2019. The production records for the plant are just beginning.
