Volkswagen Launches its Accessory Line for the New Golf GTI and R

Volkswagen will help you personalize your GTI or Golf R with the right parts

  • The MK8 Volkswagen Golf GTI and Golf R are trickling in showrooms.

  • Accessories from Oettinger are back.

As the only all-new MK8 Volkswagen Golf models to be offered for sale in North America, the GTI and R will be special to see. Although already unique, the GTI and R will most certainly receive some form of customization from their owners. Volkswagen knows this and has introduced its own line of accessories.

“The GTI is our most storied enthusiast vehicle,” said Hein Schafer, Senior Vice President of Product Marketing and Strategy at Volkswagen of America. “Its owners have a history of dialing the car in to match their personality and lifestyle, and we are proud to offer a catalog of dynamic options to help them do so.”

Once more, Volkswagen will offer customized body elements prepared by the globally renown Oettinger Sports Systems GmbH. Buyers of the new GTI will have access to the unique front and rear lip valances, and a roof edge hatch-mounted spoiler. These components can be prepped, painted, and installed by Volkswagen dealerships or the buyer’s selected independent auto body shop.

Also available are LED Dynamic Turn Signals by Osram. They are smoked and thus dark when not in use. When activated, the turn signals move in a sequential fluid motion. Best of all, they’re an easy install do not require special coding. Finally, Dynamic Wheel Center Caps with model-specific logos will also be offered. These center caps are designed with self-leveling GTI or R logos meaning they stay upright while the vehicle’s wheels and tires are in motion.
