Volkswagen Moves the Beetle in New Abbey Road Reparked Edition Cover

Volkswagen Sweden celebrates the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road with a new cover where they moved the Beetle.

Thursday, September 26, 2019, will mark the 50th anniversary of the legendary Beatles album Abbey Road.

For the occasion, Volkswagen Sweden commissioned Nord DDB to redo the album cover where we can see an illegally parked Volkswagen Beetle in the background.

The Lotus White Beetle was moved from being on the sidewalk to correctly parked in the street, as you can see from the image above.

The 50th-anniversary vinyl cover with the correctly parked Beetle helps to promote Volkswagen’s Park Assist feature in a clever way.

Volkswagen continuously innovates to make the driving experience better and safer for drivers and pedestrians,” says Jeanette Asteborg, Marketing Manager at Volkswagen Cars Sweden. “We want to show how far our technology has come since that little parking mishap so that no one else has to live with a constant reminder of their parking fail.

The limited-edition ‘The Beetle’s Abbey Road – Reparked Edition’ cover can be purchased online for 179.00 Kr (about $25 CAD). All sales of the redesigned cover will be donated to BRIS Sweden, a children’s rights organization.
